MMPCU was formed on July 1, 2008 by the joining of the Maritime Workers and Power Credit Union's for the specific purpose of improving the economic and social well-being of all workers and their families, in the stevedoring, shipping, mining and power industries.

All the members of the Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union (MMPCU) are both customers and shareholders and all profits and operating surpluses are returned to members – either by way of lower interest loans, higher interest savings and investment rates or additional member services.

Gosford City Credit Union was formed in 1965. Gosford CCU and MMPCU merged on the 01 July 2010 to form a larger and stronger Credit Union for the benefit of all members.

Gosford City Credit Union continues to operate as a division of Maritime, Mining & Power Credit Union and serves the members around the Gosford area and surrounding central coast suburbs.
