BIGROLL
The worlds longest wheelchair roll, travelling 4,500 km across Australia
The BIGROLL is an attention raising activity that has an unusual angle of pushing a wheelchair across the country from Perth to Sydney. It aims to raise awareness about the issues facing people with mobility difficulties (disabled, elderly or accident victims).
It also recognises the sterling work done by multitudes of carers in communities across the country. The catchphrase of this BIGROLL is “Mobility Matters, Carers Care”. There is also a serious fund-raising purpose as well.
How to help
The BIGROLL starts April 23rd and ends August 15th. Any person who would like to be part of the BIGROLL adventure can apply to be involved. This can be done via the website www.thebigroll.org.au or direct to the BIGROLL Coordinator Wayne Bensley on Mobile 0433 175 315.
Ideally length of involvement should be 7 to 10 days, but shorter sessions can be entertained. To help with this a Blocks Overview has been prepared and is available on the website. A day to day itinerary of the schedules is also available.
If you can’t roll-
Visit www.thebigroll.org.au to make a donation – 1c per km ($45) or more per km. You can also call 1300 sir roden.
Or put on a BIGROLL BBQ – invite your family, friends & neighbors to roll up and support our push to help more Aussies of all ages with mobility problems.
MMPCU a proud supporter
We have had a long association with the Sir Roden and Lady Cutler Foundation (formerly known as Sir Roden Cutler Charities) as a major sponsor.
MMPCU is proud to support the foundations mission to provide needy Australians and their carers with transport and other assistance that maintains and improves their quality of life.
