CoastFM963 was originally known as 2CCC-FM, which means Central Coast Community FM Radio. It began in 1987 from a household garage in Woy Woy, a caravan at Mt.Penang and a vacant shop at Niagra Park Shopping Centre.

Central Coast Community FM Radio Association became incorporated in 1998 and was awarded a full-time licence in 1992 broadcasting from a small studio in west Gosford Shopping Centre.

In 1993, 2CCC moved its studios to Toukley, in that same year the station was entered into the Guinness Book of Records when presenter Bruce Carty broke the Australian record for continuous broadcasting, beating 121hrs 3 mins.

In 1997 the station relocated to Gosford CBD and received a make over from channel 9’s Room For Improvement.

In 2006 2CCC Adopted a daytime format of Easy Mix music and also changed their name to what it is today………………CoastFM963
